He serves as the primary architect for all customer-facing communications for first-generation 360-degree drone technology. He acts as a dual-language specialist, responsible for creating and refining content in both English and Chinese to ensure global brand consistency. He oversees the entire localization process, managing the workflow that translates engineering specifications into diverse regional languages. Throughout his career, he also served as the sole Technical Writer in China for XXXX unit, acting as the critical link between the Shenzhen manufacturing hub and the global leadership team in Seattle. He authored high-stakes service manuals for life-saving medical equipment, ensuring technical precision for maintenance and repair protocols. He spearheaded the conversion of legacy, unstructured documentation into DITA/XML (Structured Authoring). This transition allowed for content reusability and streamlined updates across global product lines. He was a pivotal early member of the XXXX technical writing team, instrumental in building the documentation infrastructure for the world’s leading drone manufacturer. He grew the documentation team from two members to a full department, establishing the standards and workflows that supported XXXX rapid global expansion.

2.       What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?

Strongest skills would be his technology background and English proficiency. He excels at extracting highly technical, data-heavy information from engineering teams and “converting” it into intuitive, safe, and accessible instructions that the average customer can follow. While many technical writers in Mainland China focus on the source language, he is equally proficient in English and Chinese. This allows him to author original content in either language, bypassing the need for secondary translation layers and reducing the risk of technical errors. His bilingual mastery ensures that the nuances of engineering specifications are preserved, whether he is documenting the flight logic of a XXXX drone or the life-saving protocols of a XXXX

He spent 3 years at XXXX developing instructional publications for PC hardware systems and peripherals. At XXXX , he overhauled the service manuals for AEDs (Defibrillators), which requires the highest level of accuracy and safety compliance. He is based in Shenzhen, which is right next to Hong Kong. He has experience managing translations into 30+ languages, which is vital for a Hong Kong-based global exporter.
