1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
Both of her education is related to translation of Chinese to English and vice versa. After she finished her Master’s in the UK, she went back to Beijing and joined XXXX as a Technical Writer where she was responsible for the document control for the operation team, and was internally transferred later on to the Operation Compliance team; she was involved there with lots of operation documents, technical documents of large amusement equipment, and such. After that job, she joined XXXX as an English Translator but due to the compensation, she opted to look for new opportunities and then was hired with XXXX as an ESG Compliance Supervisor. She was responsible there for the full lifecycle management of all the documents including drawings, specifications, and technical agreements; she also is involved with translation of their documents.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be translation from Chinese to English and vice versa since this is her educational background and professional experience as well. Apart from that, she’s proficient with document control on technical documents, and lastly, excellent with technical writing as well. She’s mostly doing in-house documentations for an energy storage system product.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
She has more than 5 years of experience in technical writing, translation, and document control. Most of the materials she has worked with includes user manuals, OMMs, specifications, and structure drawings; although she doesn’t draw, she mostly manages them instead. She has been into energy but would be comfortable doing engineering, machineries, and consumer-related products; she’s well versed with technical writing standards and compliance since they mostly work with China, Thailand, US, and European countries. In terms of the tools, she has worked with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and PDF reader; open to try and learn the others if needed. Her second foreign language back in University was German so she can speak/understand the basics and also trying to re-learn for about a year now.
