Interview Assessment Notes

1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current/recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
Her latest work experience is as a Senior Product Manager at a company located in Dubai, although she works in Hangzhou, China. In this role, she primarily focuses on finance system design. Her main responsibilities include reconstructing the financial system and conducting financial data analysis. She has spent about half a year rebuilding the financial system and integrating the API with a local vendor, Totals.
Before this, she worked as a Product Manager at XXXX, but she left the company when they withdrew from China, and her team was disbanded. At XXXX, she was responsible for designing two major systems. One was a comprehensive accounting system, with multiple modules, which she has detailed in her CV. The second system was an Accounting and Enterprise System (AES), which focused on automatically generating financial vouchers from business finance data.
Additionally, she worked as a Product Manager at a real estate agency in XXXX for around five years. Her role in this company also involved finance system design. Some of the key projects she worked on include the development of an expense control system to digitalize the business workflow for reinvestment and the creation of a payment center integrated with two banks (Bank of Communication and China City Bank). This allowed the finance team to make online payments directly from the system. She also led the design of an invoice management system, which connected to vendors via API to produce electronic invoices automatically. Additionally, she worked on ERP design and integrated the system with the headquarters in Beijing to streamline data transfer for overall financial reporting.
Throughout her career, she has gained substantial experience in finance system design, ERP systems, and API integration, contributing to various business flows and ensuring smooth operations across multiple sectors.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Her strongest skills are rooted in her extensive eight years of experience in product management, with a strong emphasis on overseeing and managing product development. Additionally, her background in economics, with both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in the field, provides her with a deep understanding of finance. This enables her to apply professional financial knowledge in her product management work, ensuring that the products she oversees are both practical and financially sound.
She also considers her expertise in overseeing overseas product projects as another key strength. Having worked in Brazil and communicated with foreign teams, she has developed a strong ability to manage cross-border projects, navigate cultural differences, and effectively collaborate with international stakeholders. This international experience has honed her communication and project management skills in a global context, making her well-equipped to manage projects that span different regions and markets.
3. Do you have XXXX (Key Criteria 1)? If so can you tell me more?
She does not engage in technical coding work; her primary responsibility is business analysis. She gathers business requirements from stakeholders, and then analyzes and translates them into product design. She starts by producing the Product Requirements Document (PRD) and creates prototypes to visually represent the product's functionality.
Her process involves continuous communication with business partners to clarify and dig deeper into their needs. Once the requirements are clear, she works on the product design, creating business flow charts, brainstorming ideas, and finalizing the product's look and feel. The PRD is then shared with the developers, and she collaborates with them and the testers to ensure that the requirements are met and align with the overall product vision.
Throughout the development phase, she manages project planning and schedules, addressing any risks or issues that arise during the development or testing stages. Once the product is launched, she is the first to test it to ensure it meets the requirements and design. After confirming that the product is ready, she conducts training sessions with business partners and prepares training documentation.
Her work mostly revolves around ERP systems, which are key to the digitalization efforts of the company. After the product is in use, she gathers feedback and requirements for future updates and iterations. This continuous cycle ensures that the product evolves to meet the needs of the business.
