1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
She has been into technical writing and instructional designing since she started her career for more than 10 years now. Before moving to Hong Kong, she was already working in India for multinational companies such as XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and has been into writing of training materials for variety of audiences from different sectors: financial, pharmaceuticals, and even software companies. Coming from the Philippines after a short break, they moved to Hong Kong and joined XXXX where she did technical writing and creating of user manuals for different clients and products. She then had an offer from XXXX and worked there for about two years before COVID happened. After that, she had an opportunity with XXXX as a Learning Consultant where she worked on client office which was XXXX, she was not doing any direct writing here but more on the learning and development side of things. Her last role was a contractual with XXXX as a Knowledge Management Associate for one of their clients, the role was more on knowledge management, updating the existing training materials they have, collaborating with different teams to create some video tutorials, and such.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be more into technical writing, creating training materials, and translating complex topics into something that can be easily understandable by different audiences. In terms of the tools, she’s mainly using Adobe InDesign; also has knowledge of Illustrator but since it’s mostly used for designing, she hasn’t used it yet in a professional setting.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
She has over 10 years of experience into technical documentation and writing, and has worked already on different sectors depending on her company’s clients. She is very familiar with Adobe Creative tools especially InDesign since this is what she mostly use for her previous projects. Has brief experience and knowledge as well with XML Documentation and just needs a little refresher before working on it confidently again. Most of the materials she has worked with are mechanical manuals, user directives, safety guidelines, and all.
