1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current/recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
She has over six years of experience in product management, primarily in the fintech and e-commerce industries. One of her most memorable experiences was at XXXX, a fintech platform backed by XXXX, aimed at simplifying global trade business financing. At XXXX, she led the development of a global B2B marketplace, generating significant GMV within three months of launch. Her role involved managing the entire product life cycle, from EDA and user research to development and market launch.
Most recently, she worked at XXXX, a major retail store in the US, where she led the creation of a personalized data dashboard to help sourcing managers make informed decisions about future product development trends. After launching the dashboard, it increased user retention by 25% through data-driven insights.
Her experience at XXXX helped her hone her skills in leveraging analytics to enhance user functionality and drive the product roadmap from strategy to development. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with multicultural teams across the US, UK, Southeast Asia, India, and China. She speaks Mandarin and Cantonese fluently.
She has extensive experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and ensuring alignment between stakeholders and the engineering team for successful product delivery. She is now seeking a role where she can take products from concept to launch and also drive the growth strategy for widespread adoption. She believes that growing a product is often more challenging than building it from scratch, requiring market insight and data-driven strategies. She is particularly interested in roles in cross-payment solutions, as she aligns with the mission to empower freelancers and SMEs.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
She believes that being a product manager requires empathy, especially when understanding the pain points or problems users are trying to solve. She considers herself strong in listening to users and their concerns. This allows her to utilize her organizational and prioritization skills effectively to develop a clear plan. By focusing on user needs, she can shape the product vision and strategy, ultimately creating products that users love. Her ability to empathize with users and integrate their feedback into product development has been a key strength throughout her career.
3. Do you have XXXX (Key Criteria 1)? If so can you tell me more?
She has extensive experience as a product manager, especially in developing data dashboards to improve supply chain visibility. At XXXX, her role involved gathering business requirements from multiple stakeholders and translating them into clear technical specifications for the engineering team. This required integrating data from various teams to ensure that the dashboard visualized trends and insights correctly. Her approach focused on clear documentation, including user stories and acceptance criteria, as well as regular communication between business leaders, stakeholders, and engineers to ensure alignment.
Though she was not directly involved in coding, she effectively communicated with the engineering team using user flows, visualizations, and architectural suggestions to ensure the business requirements were met. She is not a technical coder but uses tools to bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution.
Regarding payments, while she hasn’t had hands-on experience with payment systems, she has worked with payment integrations in a marketplace at Sarai, where she helped integrate payment systems to ensure transactions ran smoothly. Additionally, she participated in research projects around financing and payment solutions, including understanding payment processes within Hong Kong’s SME lending system and a "pay by miles" system involving Cathay Pacific.
Her research experience in payments and her ability to learn quickly make her confident that she can apply her transferable skills to new payment-related challenges. Moreover, her fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese allowed her to effectively communicate with engineering teams in China during previous projects.
