He started at XXX startup company, when he arrived he had to learn a new database, Neo4j, a graph database. He learned the queries, designed a new database schema for them. The company is designing a platform to communicate with the KOL and the customer, let them communicate with each other and build the contract. They had different recommendation systems because of his database schema.

He also had to write an API backend function to connect to the database and implement it to their system. In this company, he used Node.js, Javascript and Typescript so everything is connected. He worked on the query to drag out data, do the analysis and also write the backend APIs for the frontend developer in the company to communicate to call and give data back to the frontend to the client.

Overall experience with software development is around a year and a half hands on experience in developing projects using programming languages and frameworks, using technical skills like: Javascript, React.js, Node.js, SQL databases, graph databases, Python, Django, Docker, etc. He is most familiar with Python, Javascript and Typescript currently.

For his major he had to learn a lot of statistics such as dynamic programming, numpy, pandas, machine learning together with python. He had a course project in price prediction function at XXX; used the data from HKTVMall Open Databank, by analyzing the customer’s and product’s data with its features. Final goal is to create a pricing function to predict the price by customer’s age, gender and product category. He used different classification and regression models to predict the price including Linear Regression, Polynomial Regression, Logistic Regression, Knn, DT tree, SVM with different kernel.
