1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current/recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He is a graduate of Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication and finished his Master’s degree in 2017. He has over 6 years of experience in Telecommunication and Networking field. He previously worked as a Fiber Engineer responsible for managing the end to end fiber testing for long distance and building connectivity. Also responsible for OTDR Testing, Fiber optics Splicing, VFL Checking, Integration and experience in DWDM, network Deployment, interacting with FTTH Installation team for verifying the Fiber Root design.
Also worked with X as Sr. Operation Engineer responsible for infrastructure maintenance and efficiency projects within X telecommunications in the Singapore and Asia Pacific region. Handles operations and maintenance support of transmission backbone equipment, and support for installations of servers, routers and switches, firewalls and other hardware devices.
Currently working with X as Technical Consultant responsible for technical solutions to clients and take responsibility for the standards of work, project sign off and client satisfaction. Ensures assigned network engineering projects are delivered on time, on budget against agreed scope of work.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest and specialist in?
He came from a customer facing role where he worked with vendors for installation and commissioning of optical hardware platforms such as CIENA, ADVA, Cisco WDM, MPLS, IP-Ethernet equipment’s, working remote and on-site installation. He has Cisco Certifications such as CCNA, Cisco Certified Specialist, Enterprise core, Cisco Certified cyber–Ops Associate. He is most specialized in L1 troubleshooting for fibre connectivity issues and DWDM devices, rates himself 4.5 out of 5.
His successful projects was the deployments and maintenance such as CIENA 6500, 5100, ADVA 3000 Series. Providing 24/7 On Call assistance and shift work to ensure the network stability, support to Cable Shunt fault at Sea, Co-ordinate with Ship repair team to resolve the fiber issue.
