- Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He is from India and an Engineering graduate in 2004 and has been working product consultancy services ever since and has been working in different domain but predominantly in banking domain and his projects in banking were with Credit Suisse bank Singapore and working on the deployment management he was exposed to many tools that helped them complete the project. He had some exposure on the private banking site and after two years went down and moved on and he was picked up by another bank and he was offered by a role to be a Developer and became the project lead and he had to source a lot of data from different upstream and he was reporting for US branch for X and there had a lot of exposure for data collection. He then moved to CITI bank Singapore and was picked up because of his skills and he was supporting their product applications (surveillance applications) they are also provided a tool from the company where they gather data from different financial data markets like Reuters, Bloomberg etc. Basically, they help in stopping trade market abuse.
- What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest and specialist in?
His core skillsets are he has been a developer, so he is good for SQL and PL/SQL, and he is also good with database management. He slowly bit got into database administration as well and took that role for 6 years and he also worked on on-site location in England and worked for a credit rating company. He was also exposed to Unix and does his scripting by himself. He has mainly handled all the development parts of the projects he handled.
- He has been working in production support for 4 years they helped replace the IBM vendor and he was directly involved in creating and forming a team at offshore and he was responsible with teaching the team with what to do and helped them become self-sufficient and be independent in work.
- He has been the database administrator and has a lot of product exposure with a lot of database applications and has knowledge on how data works and grows, and he had to do capacity planning to make sure they don't waste money from unwanted storage data, and he will make sure that he will give enough resources to make sure it runs and provide platform for the development team to work on. He also has exposure with Microsoft SQL Server with one of his smaller projects before and during his initial days he has IBM DB2 exposure as well and he is strong with Oracle database exposure
- He has done as suggested some automations and solutions to the development team and if it's having to do manually, he would be in-charge in giving them ideas. He has exposure on automation part of the deliverable.
- He used Jira and used it more often and he likes using Confluence more and Confluence is the best product that he uses for his bank projects and so far Confluence is the best tool to maintain all data and Jira is the application that his current company uses but he has limited access and the development team uses it currently and he will provide feedback regarding the progress and how they can improve and he is very comfortable in using both.
7. Currently they are moving physical servers to Cloud Services and they are using AWS with that, and they are being worked by the infrastructure team and he has his own AWS account and has tried to explore the services that it provides and how will it minimize the complexity of handling a huge server. |
