1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current/recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He just joined X 2 weeks ago as a Network Engineer, in charge of installing and deploying layer 1 connectivity across the APAC area. Also responsible for ensuring that the requirements are well documented and adhere to the standards so that the operations team can do the operations.
He formerly worked for X as an Infrastructure Manager, where he was responsible for the DWDM network, specifically cable management and the data centers in Japan, Hong Kong, and East Asia. Responsible for subsea cable deployments such as MIST, APRICOT, APG, and ASE, with a focus on wet plant and terrestrial, including planning, vendor delivery, and maintenance fault management.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest and specialist in?
He is Huawei Certified Network Professional (HCNP) – OTN, Huawei Certified Network Associate (HCNA), Huawei Advanced DWDM in 100G Coherent (MS-OTN), and a Huawei Cyber Security Certificate for Service Work. He specializes in Layer 1 connectivity of DWDM network, and rates himself 5 out of 5. He was in charge of delivering turnkey 200G Multi Service-Optical Transport Network (MS-OTN) projects for Singapore underwater networks. Has extensive knowledge of network switching and protection protocols such as MPLS, IP, DHCP, DNS, OSPF, LACP, VRRP, and HSRP, as well as troubleshooting them.
He has successfully deployed APG cable 600G Flexi-grid terrestrial DWDM network between
East Coast Cable Landing Station (ECLS) and POPs, are capable of carrying up to 25.6Tbps (64x400G) traffic within the project timeline. He was appointed as a program lead in X Multi-service Transport Network Plus for deploying the local NG-DWDM network with ASON & SD-WAN technology with over 8 exchanges and 4 data centers, achieving Diamond SLA survivability in multiple fiber effects.
