Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He is the person that is liaising with the business stakeholders to gather the digital requirements as to how they want to either upgrade their current software application or create a brand-new application, to gather all these business requirements and seek whether or not they are sort of feasible and whether what kind of requirements are prioritized to make the minimum viable product. He also works closely with the development team to make sure that they are able to build up this application, and do project management on certain applications and software.
-
What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
For his soft skills, he is strongest in particular the communication and negotiation. So, thinks that this is a very critical skill set in terms of business analysts’ skills because you are the liaison between the development team as well as the business stakeholders because they could have opposing objectives. For example, they want to have everything possible for the software, which is of course reasonable because the district definitely wants to operate their day to day activities with ease. But that may or may not be something the development team is keen to actually perform because they feel that the time and cost may not be justifiable and it could be way more complex than it actually needs to be. So that's why being the middleman or the liaison, I have to be firm with the decision, being able to persuade the various stakeholders as to which is the higher priority items for development, to ensure that the project is being delivered on time based on the resources available as well as achieving an overall product that is satisfactory to everyone.
A project he has done is upgrading the particular legacy system that is quite dated and because of what the business activities are right now, there are certain solutions or features of the application itself that does not serve what is being required right now so we are trying to increase and enhance the capability both in the user experience as well as the user interface to make sure that the display are able to perform that day to day in a more efficient manner. On top of that, we are also migrating this particular system over to the cloud environment, which is being hosted on the AWS cloud. He is project managing this particular migration activity.
-
How many years of leadership experience do you have?
He has around 3 to 4 years of experience in terms of leadership capabilities and 3 years in SDLC. He was previously a consultant after he graduated. So being an associate consultant, he was quickly put into the front line where he deals expensively with clients and after one year or two, he was moved up to lead a small team. Currently, he is a project manager that is leading this particular migration activity.
