He highlights the government's collaboration with private companies to expand UPI payments, enabling QR code-based payments for vendors and shopkeepers. This transformation has significantly increased accessibility, convenience, and ease of payments, allowing users to make transactions without carrying a wallet. He notes that UPI's success in India is now gradually being adopted in other countries.
He has also observed the growing role of cryptocurrency as an emerging payment method, with many markets beginning to adopt it.
His experience extends to Southeast Asian markets, including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam. He was responsible for unifying payment gateways across these regions, enabling seamless payment functionality for vendors and businesses. His role involved working closely with local governments to expand policies and implement them into unified payment systems.
He is familiar with digital payment platforms and e-wallets used in Southeast Asia, including Siam Pay and Payoneer, especially in Thailand, where he has experience working with local teams.
