He has been working in finance for the past seven years and is currently an Investment Specialist at Legal & General. Previously, he worked as a Structured Products Analyst at XXXX, where he collaborated closely with traders and structures to design and price new financial products for clients. This role involved evaluating trade dynamics, determining pricing for specific instruments, and conducting P&L analysis.
His expertise lies predominantly in fixed income, including credit, bonds, and interest rates, such as SOFR and federal funds rates. In addition to fixed income, he has experience with indices, equities, and commodities. On a personal level, he trades forex, focusing on specific currency pairs, which further complements his professional experience.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
He describes his strongest skills and experiences as being in self-learning, mathematical modeling, and trading. He has been teaching himself Python and SQL to enhance his technical abilities. In terms of financial expertise, he is proficient in creating dynamic financial models using Excel, particularly discounted cash flow models, to evaluate prospective investments and assess the performance of his personal investment portfolio.
He actively monitors markets to support his personal investment interests, with a focus on long/short positions in shares, currencies, indices, and Exchange-Traded Funds. This experience allows him to refine his technical analysis and decision-making skills, while also keeping him engaged with financial markets and improving his ability to construct investment strategies and spot opportunities.

He has relevant experience with the key criteria. A few years ago, he worked as a Trade Operations Analyst, where he ensured the smooth settlement of trades. He collaborated closely with traders and portfolio managers to facilitate efficient settlements between counterparties and the front office. In cases of discrepancies or queries between the custodian and the front office, he was responsible for resolving them quickly and efficiently.
He also worked with Aladdin, the system used to manage and input trades between the front office and counterparties. His role involved managing risk edges, particularly in Forex, and he closely analyzed Forex and Forex futures, ensuring the mathematics between what was expected to settle and the counterparties' claims aligned properly. This included reviewing yields, prices, duration, and accrual mismatches. He worked to ensure that the trade ticket aligned with the counterparty's details for a smooth trade settlement.
In his role at Aviva, he primarily focused on major currencies such as Euro, GBP, and USD, but he also handled non-deliverable currencies in Asia. For technical analysis, he used MT5 to chart and analyze trends, examining trader volumes to assess the strength of market trends and directional movements.
