Project Manager

1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs? He has about 15 years of working experience now and is an American-Egyptian, can speak both Arabic and English on a native level. He has been in the IT sector for 12 years now, and is currently a Project Manager, looking to get promoted into a Senior Project Manager role, mainly in multiple industries such as automotive, stock market, food and beverage, hospitality, sharing apps, and more. He also has been managing multicultural teams all over the world, mainly Egyptian, American, Canadian, Mexican, Indian, and more; has managed a team of over 20 people so far. Some of the times, he would manage multiple projects at the same time with big multiple teams running in parallel for the same project; he’s good with managing budget, hiring, project planning, scoping the requirements, actual build, up to testing, and deployment. Right now, he’s a Software Project Manager for XXXX where his role is basically figuring out the strategy, what issues they have as a team, and figuring out how to make the processes as efficient as possible. Sometimes, they have a department or new client with new ideas and his team would be the one turning those into an actual product. On top of that, he has been involved with quotations from a timeline and financial perspective; he’s hands-on to the point that he knows who’s going to be able to deliver what and be held accountable for project delivery. As a project manager, he makes sure that he’s utilizing their resources in a proper way from renting/purchasing servers even utilizing human resources. 2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in? Strongest skill would be both project management and tech since he has been doing these two for more than 10 years now. Also, through the years, he has acquired the ability to manage teams without feeling exhausted, feeling stressed, and overwhelmed; he’s good with keeping things as realistic as possible. On the tech side of things, he’s tech savvy and can leverage his tech knowledge and skills for designing solutions or understanding the scope of the requirements. He has worked on different domain including automotive, hospitality, food & beverage, FMCG, and more.

1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs? She has about 8 years of experience in project management and is currently with XXXX as a Project & Programme Manager, focused with consultancy capacity and supporting delivery of S/4HANA projects. A lot of her background in project management has been around tech, IT, and implementation of different system solutions. She has a variety of experience in different sectors as well including the public sector, financial services, and tech; majority of her positions has always been in IT and delivery of SaaS solutions. Her main responsibilities here would be tracking of projects since she’s currently leading about 3 projects at the moment; on a daily basis, she’s just keeping on top of their projects, following up with key stakeholders on actions that have been assigned to them, ensuring they are in line with the plan, and be able to manage deviations ahead of time. Outside of that, she is also involved in regular project meetings, user acceptance testing, and coordination of software development updates onto S/4HANA and just the management of their feature request process. Prior to this, she worked with XXXX as a Project Manager and her main responsibility there was focused on the delivery of tech systems, mostly supporting traders of the company, making sure they stay compliant with FCA regulations. She also was a Project Manager for XXXX where it was more of a client-facing role, ensuring successful delivery of their solutions which was GEMS (Global Management Services) platform. In summary, bulk of her experience comes from the delivery of tech solutions. 2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in? Strongest skill would be communication with clients and just ensuring that she is building a strong relationship with them. She considers it as one of the core aspects of project management, also ensuring that all things are going according to the plan created. Also, she’s good handling deviations, communicating it effectively with the client and project team, as well as senior stakeholders. One of her biggest achievements is in her current role; when she onboarded them, they don’t have a streamlined feature requests and bug process, so herself and her team worked on that over the last few years to ensure that bugs and requests are being picked up and worked on, on time.

He has a very significant amount of experience in leadership, operational management, and project management, both within tech sectors, healthcare, medical, and even humanitarian sector. On the tech side of things, he has experience with telecommunications and blockchain startup, where he was involved in project management for the entire spectrum of their operations, ranging from social media, marketing, and film production for marketing purposes, all the way up to product development, management, and worked very closely with the senior leadership. Given that, he is fully aware of the kind of challenges of project management within the tech environment and skilled at working with stakeholders across various departments ranging from the C-suite to the development teams, software engineering, product management, and even marketing, human resources. During his time with XXXX, he was responsible for working directly with the marketing team, visual and graphic designers, and senior leadership of the company to make sure they were happy with their assets and quality; he was also involved in coordinating fil production and shoots to demonstrate the technical applications of the systems they were developing. He was working a lot with the engineering team, giving and taking feedbacks from them which he shares with other stakeholders. His career has been 20% being involved in the technical and development side of things and about 80% in the guiding, operation management of the technical teams. In addition to that, he has a lot of experience working in the emergency medical sector for the past 3+ years, organizing emergency medical treatment and medical evacuations of children from the Middle East to various countries around the world, ranging from the United States to Spain. Although his current role is not directly related to the tech sector, a part of it had tech-related involvement since he was heavily involved in building and developing websites as a non-technical project manager. 2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in? Strongest skill would be bringing teams and stakeholders together to achieve an objective against the odds whilst keeping teams together, exceeding expectations, and maintaining a very good level of harmony throughout the teams. Apart from that, he has demonstrated high levels of organization, strong leadership abilities, good organizational skills, and communication skills. During his time with XXXX, they were able to launch free websites at very short notice to meet the requirements of their senior leadership. He played a central role in that process and he was really proud since it came together much faster than expected, about 6 weeks in total.
