1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
She did her Law degree back in the UK and also had her second degree which was International Journalism. She then came to Hong Kong and worked as a Teacher originally; but after sometime, she transitioned to more writing roles and joined XXXX as a English Copywriter where she produced informative and SEO-optimized contents for the company. She was there for about 6 months and then joined XXXX as a Technical Writer & Copywriter, now as a Senior Technical Writer and Customer Support Manager; their product is a supply chain management software that has lots of new features so her job is to learn the system, understand what the changes are, how it impacts the user, and write release notes and technical guides for it such as UI documents, customized guides for clients, and at the same time, she also handles tickets from people using the software and try to rectify the issue herself. Most of their clients are coming from different sectors including clothing, footwear, supermarkets, and any business that produces anything and needs it to be tracked.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be her problem-solving skills and has practiced it since their company doesn’t have any trainings so she had to teach herself a lot of things such as using the system, new features, and all; most of the time, she has to use it, test it, and write a guide for it afterwards.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
She has about 3 years of experience in technical writing and editing now, has experience with hardware previously where she worked with an internet router company and had to create specifications, write documentations for physical electronic products, and 4G/5G technologies. Currently, she’s more exposed to software solutions and believes she can adapt and learn in any industry she will be placed in. Technology wise, she uses JIRA for project management stuff, Adobe Suite for writing/editing, and Zendesk for article formatting, also has some knowledge of HTML.
