He is a Senior Technical Writer who have worked with global teams and colleagues from different geographical locations such as the USA, Israel, France, and Hong Kong. He deals with different type of documentations such as user guides, installation guides, API guides, online help, and release notes for different products. He is currently with XXXX as a Senior Technical Writer where he extracts information from tickets, share content with different stakeholders, and contribute to the contents using different tools; as last part of the workflow, they publish the finalized content to their documentation portal.
Before this, he was a Senior Technical Writer for XXXX where he worked on different products, go over their features, doc request, and then go through the documentation part of it; he was also involved with the review process, approval process, and up to publication. Their products here are a mix of software (VOS, Media Software) and hardware (XOS) so he has exposure working with both documentation.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be dealing with different parties and stakeholders, especially those from different geography; he has good knowledge of different culture and how to approach/work with people with different nationality, and get along with them. In terms of tools and technologies, he’s proficient with JIRA as their ticketing platform, PDF editors, Illustrator, and more; knowledgeable with DITA as well.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
He has about 17 years of experience now in hands-on technical writing, has handled both software and hardware such as installation of media-related products; he has been involved in doing hardware diagrams and illustrations as well. In terms of compliance and standards, he is someone who’s familiar with different compliance but not an expert; open to learn more about it if given the chance. He would be interested to work on machinery, industrial equipment, and consumer products as well. Can interpret drawings and specifications as well.
