1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He has been working as a Program Improvement Specialist for XXXX; has been with them initially as a Training and Documentation Specialist where he performed technical writer duties including updating knowledge-based articles, reports, and other technical support documents for publishing in their internal site. After some time, he moved towards program improvement where he started to develop initiatives, projects, and everything that concerns their documentation processes. He is also involved with automation projects, efficiency projects, primarily within documentation and other support initiatives; he’s still performing technical writer duties but he’s more involved on review processes, document control, manage their document review and approval process, and making sure their documents are up-to-date and ISO compliant. Before this, he was with XXXX as a Technical Writer where he managed the KB platform of the company as well; he was involved with creates, edits, and updates during that time. He also was an Associate Engineer, Technical Writer for XXXX where he developed and supported content for a knowledge-based web service application used by their engineers; he worked with UPS, power stations, and batteries. He started his career in Technical Writing with XXXX and first ever job was with XXXX as a Product Engineer.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be program and project management since he has been doing this a lot for his current role in XXXX; they are also trying to move the KB articles from the current materials to an AI platform that can be accessed internally. In general, he’s leaning more towards process improvement initiatives and projects. Some of the key achievements he has accomplished so far includes the recent one where they automated document reviews and approval process for their department, improving efficiency and time consumed. Apart from that, he was involved with the automation of file deletion for customer supplied data for engineers, as a part of their data protection policy compliance.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
Has about 9-10 years of experience in technical writing and editing, started from a media company, financial services, and currently, in an electronics manufacturing company. He’s knowledgeable with Adobe CC Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), Content Management Systems such as Zendesk, Sharepoint, and Tortoise SVN, as well as XML documentation. He came from an engineering background as well so he can work with heavy machineries and engineering equipment if ever. He does have some engineers being assigned under his team currently so he mentors and guides them to develop their soft and technical skills related to documentation; he can handle mentoring about 3-4 team members if given the chance.
