1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
She has been in and out of the IT industry for more than 25 years now and 8 years of which were spent in Qatar, wherein she was working with an oil and gas company; she was able to practice her training skills and coordination part there since she was working closely with the learning and development team, involved with the safety standards as well. She also worked with XXXX as a Process Technical Writer where she was assigned on the operations department and had to make sure that all the policies, procedures, and all the documents are aligned with the regulations mandated by the BSP; so she was involved with the business and technical side. She also had to review documents and produce some policies they need to comply. She was also an IT Project Coordinator and Lead Technical Writer for XXXX where she headed the documentation and testing team, including 2 technical writers and 2 testers. She was also the one doing the presentation to their clients in terms of functionality of the software they’re doing for them. She is now with XXXX as a Technical and Customer-Facing Documentation Writer where she does all the Knowledge Base articles from creation to publishing. She’s also the one modifying and maintaining all their documents to ensure they are aligned within the updated release of their software; they provide POS, kiosk, display systems, and more.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skills would be her technical know-how; even if the software or a specific tool/technology is new to her, she can easily learn it by exploring all the systems. She’s good with dealing with other teams and communicating to them as well. She considers herself resourceful enough to know and learn things.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
She has more than 10-15 years of experience in technical writing, mostly for software products, but since she came from an engineering background, she’s confident to work on the hardware side of things as well including machineries, engineering equipment, and consumer-based products. Managerial experience of about 5+ years now and has handled the biggest team size of 4 back in her previous role with XXXX. She’s also keen to learn and research about the different safety standards to be used for this role, and believes she can learn it in a short span of time; has the foundation knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, and minimal experience with XML documentation as well.
