1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He’s currently with XXXX as a Regional Technical Sales Director where he’s leading the APAC sales, FAEs, and even marketing teams; their major business focus is within the China region and has had a lot of success for the past two years. He has a double-digit number of teammates across APAC that reports to him and he oversees daily work, he also manages the business development side of things; mainly working and exploring new businesses in China, Korea, India, and even Europe (Netherlands, Amsterdam, etc.). On top of these, he’s also helping the company in shaping their strategy, helped define the pricing for each licensing business, work on business structures, agreements, and so on. They usually do B2B and B2B2C, focusing on larger companies.
Previous to this, he was with XXXX as a Senior Technical Sales Manager where he was responsible for the full sales cycle; the only difference in his current role is that he didn’t managed any people back in Dolby. His focus products back then includes everything in the living room, from TV, soundbar, mobile phones, PCs, and such; doing B2B model as well. He started his career as an Engineer; he had FAE and Software Engineer roles on the earlier years of his career. During his time with XXXX as a Senior Manager, he virtually led a team of 30 people focused on the driver development for tablets and mobile phones. All of his engineering roles are within the audio tech space as well and he acknowledges his solid engineering background before transitioning to sales roles.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be making friends and building relationships/partnerships especially across Asia; he is good in sitting down with clients, doing small talks, culture, and so on, to eventually get them to talk business. He’s great with connecting companies, bridging the licensor and licensee relationship would be one of his expertise as well. In his current company, they have projected about 400% YoY revenue and growth in APAC alone for this year, mainly from high-volume contracts with leading Chinese gaming headset OEMs.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
He has over 10 years of experience in doing audio tech sales, he even started his career as a technical guy working on the audio space so he’s very familiar with this industry/domain; 95% of his job is focused on the consumer audio side and about 5% on the professional audio side. Right now, he’s managing a double-digit team (number is confidential) but previously managed 30 people virtually. His network and coverage spans across the Greater China (Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macau), the rest of APAC including Singapore from the Southeast Asia, and even Europe countries.
