1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
After his graduation, he started to join local firms for development and the first three years of his career, he was travelling around the country for doing telco online systems and insurance companies as well, mainly doing Java development. After that, he got an opportunity from XXXX for their managed services business located in Shenzhen; he served mostly overseas customers during that time and was doing managing services for Australia and New Zealand. They are basically running the whole infrastructure for their customers, regardless what kind of solution they are using; they also support middleware and web-enablement. In the later phase of his days in XXXX, he handled more customers that are moving on to cloud, shifted their support scope from traditional data centre infrastructure into cloud-based or hybrid type of models. After some time, he worked with XXXX in Hong Kong, under XXXX, and built two private cloud data centre for them in Hong Kong and Singapore; he was involved within the transformation and transition as well as post sales maintenance. He served as a Sr. Manager for Solutioning & VIO Delivery for them and later on, got the position with XXXX, his job is more on portfolio management of their professional services; he manage different product lines and different scenarios, then to make business cases as well as support new professional services solution. Together with the team, they have produced the cloud migration framework and data governance framework. He is now assigned as the Director for the Philippines Cloud Delivery and Services where he ensures the transition to cloud is smooth, ensure that the solution they produce is implemented well, and handles everything about compliance and more.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skills would be the combination of his experience and energy level; he’s great technically and also have the leadership or people management skills that he can always leverage for his next jobs. In terms of industry, he has always been within IT industry but he is open for other opportunities within other industries (banking, insurance, etc.) as long as it’s within the IT department. Few of his biggest achievements include starting the team in XXXX for middleware and web application, hosting support which turned out to be the strongest department in the area centre of China during that time; also he participated in one of the biggest project in XXXX wherein the first contract signing was about 200M USD and before he left them, he has contributed to 16M more RFS into the whole project.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
Has more than 20 years of experience in the engineering side and also has been into senior leadership positions, the range of team size he has handled so far is between 12 members (currently) to 160 members (previously an L2 manager of a whole department). He’s involved with overall architecture, DevOps, and SRE as well, mainly uses Huawei cloud in converting open source components to cloud services. Knowledgeable with Kubernetes, Terraform for IAC, and used to code in Java and Python as well previously and also familiar with CI/CD practices and GitHub for version control.
