1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
His background is a combination of brand marketing, sales development, and international business; although a lot of his job title is on the marketing side, he has always been commercially-focused. He was previously the Manager of Marketing for XXXX, was in that company for about 6 years, and worked across a portfolio of British brands like Wharfedale, Quad, Mission, and Audio Lab. He worked closely back then with the global sales team, distributors, market development team, also product positioning, and was involved with a lot of R&D activities as well such as product design and launches; he was reporting to the General Manager back then from the UK. After that, he moved to XXXX as a Director of Brand Marketing, where his responsibilities included sales and marketing, monitoring performances across different region, led the team of global sales strategy, business development, client relationship, and such.
His most recent role was with XXXX as the Brand Marketing Director/Consultant, where he helped them develop the whole business and branches in Mainland China. He worked together with his Sales Director and was reporting to the Business Owner in Shenzhen; he set up their sales strategy for both B2B and B2C businesses which he also oversaw the distribution, and worked together with different teams such as marketing, HR, finance, sales, and so on.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be his good sales and marketing leadership, especially within the audio industry; he’s good with choosing the right sales partners, understanding the market, and then giving the right product positioning. He also considers himself with solid marketing background and has great exposure with the commercial side.
During his time with XXXX, they owned about 10 British brands and he oversaw about 4 core brands which he worked out together with the marketing team (marketing assets, promotion) and was eventually successful; he also rebranded the company to Made in UK products which boosted the sales to about 20%, he also managed to get 200M USD sales revenue for them previously during his first year. In his current company, since he only worked for about a year and was only a consultant, he managed to get the sales up to 100K USD for their B2C business.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
He has about 7-8 years of total experience in doing sales, mostly together with his marketing responsibilities; he has been involved within the audio industry for the past 3 years as well as renewable energy, and even agriculture industry. On his last role, he was mainly exposed with professional audio including live portable speakers, sound installation for cinema, or theatres, and so on; for XXXX, he was mainly responsible for HiFi products. He is mostly responsible for distributors and partners, as well as retailers; covers the whole APAC, US, Europe, and some Africa and Middle East as well. When it comes to management, he managed about 12 people previously and about 18 people in his latest role, all reports directly to him.
