Interview Assessment Notes

1.       Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?

He is a Distinguished Sales Executive and Strategic Leader with a 34-year legacy of driving revenue at XXXX Japan. In his most recent role, he was the Deputy Division Head, where he orchestrated the strategy and execution for acquisition and growth across the digital landscape. He consistently exceeds targets in a multi-billion yen environment, managing a portfolio of ¥44.9B (103% of target) in 2024. He drove modern customer acquisition through multi-channel and multi-tool approaches, integrating strategic business partnerships to expand market reach. And he established virtual, customer-centric teams that break down traditional product silos to focus on total client success. Before this, he managed a large-scale sales organization of 60 members, specializing in the maintenance and lifecycle services (TLS) that form the backbone of enterprise stability. He led a fundamental shift from product-based selling to customer-based team structures, ensuring deeper client alignment. And he pioneered the launch of the OEM business for maintenance services, creating new revenue streams and diversifying the TSS portfolio. He has spent over two decades embedded within the “crown jewels” of Japanese industry, building deep institutional knowledge and long-term trust. He served as the primary lead for Toyota Motor Corporation (7 years) and Denso (7 years), managing the complex hardware, software, and service requirements of the global automotive supply chain. He managed the strategic relationship with Mizuho Bank, one of the largest financial institutions in Japan, during a period of significant digital evolution. And launched his career in the Small and Medium Business area, mastering the “hunter” mentality required to acquire and grow new clients from the ground up.

2.       What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?

Strongest skills would be large-scale enterprise sales strategy, organizational & cultural transformation, talent incubation & mentorship. His career is anchored by high-stakes victories, most notably his tenure as a Sales Team Leader for Mizuho Bank, one of the world’s largest financial institutions. He successfully secured and managed a $300 million contract within an $800 million total budget framework. He orchestrated a massive, multi-faceted delivery involving Enterprise Hardware, Software, and Mission-Critical Services to stabilize and modernize banking infrastructure. He has spent 14 years managing the technology lifecycles for Toyota Motor Corporation and Denso, ensuring their global supply chains remained at the cutting edge of IT. He led a division-wide shift from “Product-based” selling to “Issue-driven Solution” proposals, ensuring that IBM’s offerings solved real-world business challenges rather than just filling technical quotas. He has established agile, virtual teams that transcend traditional product boundaries to focus exclusively on the specific needs of the enterprise client. And he possesses the experience to manage portfolios that exceed ¥50B annually. His most recent role has revenue performances of 2024: ¥44.9B (103%), 2023: ¥54.8B (103%), 2022: ¥45.3B (95%).
