Interview Assessment Notes

1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current/recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He began his career as a teacher, prioritizing education as his main profession. However, he also gained experience in the travel industry, where he worked with numerous Japanese customers, creating and selling tour itineraries to both tour companies and individual clients. His role involved call coordination, analyzing and explaining various travel options using PDFs and other resources to highlight their advantages and disadvantages. Many of his main clients were VIPs, allowing him to build strong relationships and gain trust among their networks. Although he is no longer in the travel industry, he has developed valuable skills in customer service and customer experience. He spent four years in this field, initially focusing on improving his English skills before fully immersing himself in the travel business for the remaining three years.

2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
He describes his strongest skill as communication, particularly in the context of working with startup companies. He has a strong ability to identify problems within these organizations and solve them effectively. He believes that better communication leads to better workflows, ensuring that people not only enjoy their work but also contribute more effectively to the team’s success.

3. Do you have XXXX (Key Criteria 1)? If so can you tell me more?
He has extensive experience in the travel industry, where he worked as a manager, overseeing various aspects of tour operations. His role often required on-site visits to different islands, allowing him to assess locations firsthand and engage with local communities, including fishermen, farmers, and other residents. Through these interactions, he was able to build strong connections and integrate local culture and experiences into the tour packages, ensuring a more authentic and engaging experience for customers.
In addition to managing tour operations, he also played a key role in sales and customer service. He was responsible for handling client inquiries, coordinating travel plans, and ensuring smooth communication between customers and service providers. A significant part of his role involved supporting the foreign exchange (FX) aspect of the business, assisting clients with transactions, and ensuring they received the best possible services. His ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and facilitate seamless travel experiences made him a valuable asset in the industry.
