1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He was an Electronics and Communications Engineering graduate from India and started his career there. He was first in the Aviation industry and worked as an Embedded Systems Engineer where he was involved in decreasing the turnaround operations of all the core operations that happen in airports, give bird’s eye view to the managers of the airport basically to sync with ground handlers. He was heavily programming their devices installed in different equipment such as pushback tractors, trolleys, ladders, and all. After that, he joined a Fintech back in Nepal, building alternative solutions for payment aggregators through hardware devices such as kiosks. During his time there as an Embedded Engineer, he was able to grow his own IoT team targeting hotels, restaurants, cafes, and even clubs. He also got to do traditional software development back there related to KYC applications, so he had to do heavy backend while doing embedded side as well.
He then went to Japan and joined XXXX as a Tech Lead, led a project there for a customer with 80,000 products such as inventory, orders, HR, and analytics platform. He led there a digital platform change including their entire suite of applications so he went back to his roots of software development. Right now, he’s with XXXX as a Robotics Firmware Engineer where he handled the core operations of the robot including navigation and everything; they create the solutions to integrate to the robots. He also managed the lower critical aspects of the robot such as motor control, actuators, safety system, e-stop, and other features such as cameras, etc.; he also worked on microcontrollers such as Raspberry Pi, ESP32 STM, Arduino, and such. On a daily basis, he develops various safety systems for the robot, writes code for controllers, and manage the ROS layer while being involved in reviewing the code for the rest of the team. Their robots are mainly used for agriculture, construction sites, and defense, or any sector who might need it.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be his deep foundation in software development as well as hardware. His interest lies within physical AI, embedded systems, robotics, and different stack including C, C++, Python, and more. Proficient with creating solutions in a very fast pace, create POCs, getting feedbacks from people, and implementing that to the solution. In terms of industry, he has worked with aviation, fintech, and even agricultural; he’s open to join automotive audio industry as well.
One of his achievements would include joining his current company, with a very small team, where he had to do a lot from scratch such as legacy codes and did reverse engineering with their process. After his contribution, they had 2 generations of robot created and has done lots of heavy migrations as well.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
He has almost 9 years of experience in software embedded development, basically since the beginning of his career. Strongest with Embedded C and C++, does hands-on coding, and involves from software design, development, implementation, and the end-to-end cycle. Uses hardware or equipment tools such as multimeter and oscilloscope to see if channels are active and for testing/debugging. Proficient in reading data sheets and schematics; mostly uses ESP32, FreeRTOS, and more.
