1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
His background is from Mechanical Engineering but started his pro engineering work back in 2011 with a Japanese company specialized in factory automation, their product line would be camera, vision, scanners, and so on. His core technical experience came from that role where he was able to develop any product from scratch including sensors; starting from prototype, type of SOC, build drivers, sensors, libraries, interface, and also modified some application-level. In summary, he was working with the whole architecture of the product development side, with key skills as embedded Linux; he also led the design and development from that company. After 11 years with them, he moved to XXXX and was initially hired as a Software Engineer so he started doing some development, then led the team to do some development related to automation such as HIL tests. He also created some validation tools, IVI, and he was the only person that has a general overview of software-level, system-level, and hardware background; he knows how to debug via oscilloscope, check the power, and everything. About 70% of the time, even though he is serving as a Manager, he still has to be involved with the technical side of things, development, supporting the validation, and so on. This year, he got promoted as a Systems Department Manager where he’s responsible on the system-level, implement the customer requirements, develop software, and on the management point-of-view, he leads three groups right now: five people from software development, five people from system FO. On a daily/weekly basis, he is involved with all the operation meetings with system teams and TPMs, lead the development team, do meetings with quality control, involved with logs, root-cause analysis, and directly involves himself with customers as well.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be on the technical side of things, he can generally jump in and understand engineering problems, great with building products, and also mentoring and team management. He prefers doing technical stuff rather than managing and considers himself a pro-engineer, always keen on creating a career path for younger engineers, and make sure they have progress in their working environment.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
He has more than 15 years of experience in software embedded development and software engineering, has been in the managerial position for more than 5 years now. He has not done any coding for the past few years since he is on the managerial level but he can still program using C/C++ if needed for the job since he prefers to be more on the technical side of things rather than management.
