1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He has close to 12 years of experience in the automotive industry and worked mainly for German and Japanese OEMs. Earlier on his career, he started working with XXXX for validation, verification for the next generation car systems, infotainment, and navigation systems. After that, he moved to Japan and worked with XXXX as a Software Test Manager and Project Manager where he was responsible for the core areas and used to work for test management, interact with customers as well as the internal teams for the test activities. Another project he handled back then was a maintenance project where he functioned as a project manager then they slowly migrated to the product management side.
He’s now with XXXX as a Product Manager where he’s doing pure product management and is involved with customer discussions for the new product announcements, internal team discussions to add the product to market competency, also supporting the solutioning. Right now, they have a new opportunity with an in-house product, so once the project is awarded to them, he is going to work with engineering activities, do some testing, and so on. He’s working with a lot of teams and department across APAC (Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, India, Japan, etc.) as an individual contributor and he’s reporting directly to the Director of Controls based in Malaysia.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be test management, validation, and also project management since he has been doing these three for more than 10 years now. Industry-wise, he considers himself expert within the automotive industry.
When he was with his previous company, he was providing delivery on a tight schedule and in between, he was able to open up an opportunity to optimize test plans that can go to multiple platforms within a short span of time; he has done the optimization of test plan to meet all the requirements without deviating any other requirements.
