Interview Assessment Notes

1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He is currently working with XXXX as a Sales Manager/Account Manager under the sales department; he does global account management for some of their customers as well. His responsibility would include doing sales for Japanese automotive tier-one customers with internal/exterior lighting, microcontrollers, analog sensors, and power semiconductor products; he basically introduce their different products to customers, sometimes to distributor, and so on. Before this, he was with XXXX, a semiconductor manufacturing company, as a Business Development Manager and was there for about 17-18 years; he was doing sales back then, introducing audio components and devices, DSPs, to their audio equipment/automotive customers in both Korea and Japan. He also worked in the Europe market for about 5 years in this company as well, handling European automotive customers such as Harman, etc.

2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be his knowledge and exposure with semiconductor market specifically for automotive customers, both in Japan and Europe; he is knowledgeable with both local culture and international culture that he leverages in making sales. He has great negotiation skills, communication skills with their customers, and has expanded sales revenue for the Europe market amidst their crisis with previous company.
One of his biggest achievements in XXXX previously, he has always achieved 75% win rate on customer product proposals and has secured around 1B JPY lifetime sales for their keyless entry system. Prior to that when he was handling the Europe market, he secured a landmark design aimed for automotive communication units with a projected 3B JPY for a five-year revenue.

3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
He has extensive experience of automotive sales in current and previous company; right now, he has more than 10 years in this space, including car navigation systems, car audio systems, audio communication units, DSPs, digital-analog converter, and in his current role, he’s more into lighting products, microcontrollers, and semiconductor products for their automotive customers. He has worked mainly with tier-one customers such as Alps Alpine, JVC KenWood, Aishin, Clarion Global, and more; he has exposure with Japanese OEMs in general including Toyota, Honda (Japan), Hyundai (Korea), and so on but not strong direct experience with them as of now. He doesn’t have any team members as of now but previously, he had two members (Japanese, German) reporting under him.
