1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He started his career with XXXX and is still working with them up to this point, for about 18 years now in total; they are one of the most famous Japanese tire manufacturers ranked 5th when it comes to sales. Currently, he is the Manager of Business Development, belonging to the Business Planning Department and he specializes in supply chain; basically how to create supply chain plan regarding all their tire products from different plant locations all over the world, after receiving the sales draft plan, he allocates each of their product to each plant. He is also responsible for increasing the production capacity to match the overall demand in the market, create investment plans, and so on. He currently has two subordinates under him, he manages their KPIs and allocate assignments to them; he’s working with OEM and businesses as well and after receiving requests from those car manufacturers regarding new tire fitment, he creates estimation based on that, he also attends higher management meeting, and so on.
He started with this company as a Coordinator where he managed supply planning for 400+ seasonal tire SKUs, collaborated with different teams as well including sales, manufacturing, and logistics teams to be aligned on the deployment based on customer demands or requirements.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be his expertise regarding car and automotive industry, not just only on the tire viewpoint, but also in the automotive space in general; including industry forecast, data service, and market trends. He has worked and handled a lot of products in his hand, and there was a time where he handled about 5000 products and allocate them to supply plants; that required him a lot of attention to detail and focus. He is good with creating and achieving long-term goals, coming up with the best supply chain plan, investment plans, financial statements, P&L, and more. One of his achievements would be designing and executing an investment plan worth 5M-10M USD previously where they got a business profit of about 50M-70M USD annually.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
He doesn’t have any direct sales or business development background, but he has been doing supply chain planning within the automotive or car manufacturers for 18 years now. He has worked and has good relationship with all Japanese automotive OEMs including Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Suzuki, Daihatsu, and others from North America such as Chrysler, European ones as well including BMW, Porsche, and Volkswagen. He has only handled automotive tire products and industrial rubber products, so he would like to stick working with those type of products going forward.
