Currently working as Network Technical-Specialist responsible for the operations and maintenance of all the equipment in their data center and submarine cable landing stations. They use Ciena and Infinera equipment for transmission and for the IP they use Cisco and Juniper.
Also perform service delivery which involve provisioning of circuits and service assurance providing supports to their NOC in troubleshooting faults and standby on calls 24/7. Handles projects for transmission and IPs projects plan provided by the engineering team under the engineering design documents and methods of procedures as well as managing and supervising vendor’s contractors and subcontractors.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest and specialist in?
He specializes in providing support, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of SDH and DWDM equipment and rates himself 4 out of 5 as long as it is part in the layer 1 and 2 physical support. He said he don’t configure the DWDM equipment instead engaged their vendors to do the configuration. He just supervised and do the checking, confirmation, accept and approve once the installation and commission has been completed by the vendors. He has hands-on experience and in depth knowledge in an on-site installation of fiber optics, testing and troubleshooting and provides level 1 support of the DWDM network.
