1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He has been working remotely for more than 15 years now and is specialized in the APAC region for a number of years now. His first job was with XXXX as a Project/Design Engineer where he worked on projects including one with Petronas Twin Towers as one of his first few AV projects back then. Then he hopped into another system integrator company called XXXX as a Senior Systems Integration Manager, did more audio/AV projects during that time. His first big stint was jumping to an American manufacturer called XXXX as the APAC Region Technical Sales where he was involved mainly on the professional audio side although they do have the consumer and automotive legs as well; he got the opportunity go back and forth to the JBL’s headquarters in LA during that time.
After a good number of years there, he moved to another brand called XXXX, under their commercial audio side, he was there as a Technical Manager where he worked mostly on the Audio DSP and Computerized Digitized Audio products. From there, he joined another audio manufacturer called XXXX as a Product Manager and Technical Writer, responsible for the whole APAC; he liaise with which products to make back then with engineers from Italy, how they move forward with the company, and so on. Due to COVID, he had to move to XXXX, another brand specializing in Audio DSP, as a Regional Sales Manager where he had a very good sales performance and had a lot of orders, but due to chip shortages during that time, they cannot be shipped and he had to be released from the company. He is currently working with XXXX, a European loudspeaker manufacturer, as an International Sales Manager where he is responsible for collecting orders that goes to the HQ, travelling to different Asian country bi-weekly to visit end users, visit trade shows, customers who have purchased the products, do trainings, and also education programs. He constantly does meeting with distributors on a day-to-day basis and is an ongoing operation for them.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be his deep exposure and knowledge within the audio and video systems, including some of intercom systems used in stage systems, and so on. He also have a lot of certifications on top of his practical experience and he likes to keep himself updated throughout the years with new technologies. On top of these, he speaks almost every language within the APAC region and is a very flexible person, knows the cultures of different countries, and leverages that when selling their products; he’s also reliable and can always deliver the solutions that their customers require, and considers himself a leading player. He’s good with positioning a particular brand or product in the market and is good with communicating to local and HQ teams.
One of his biggest sales was back in XXXX, where he managed to achieve up to 10M USD accumulated revenue for the APAC region. In his current role, he has managed to grow the market from 2M EUR to 4M EUR in just a few years; he considers it big achievement since the brand is not well-known unlike the big brands in the market.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
He has more than 15 years of hands-on experience in doing B2B sales and business development, although he has been within the audio-video industry from the beginning of his career; did different roles including Project/Design Engineer, System Integration Manager, Product Manager, and even Technical Writer. He has been taking care of the APAC region since 2008 and has touched every market both North Asia and Southeast Asia; one of his biggest country right now is Mainland China which makes up 60% of their business right now. His main focus is from commercial and professional audio, also did a bit of consumer audio during the earlier years of his career; he covers different markets including hospitality, education, government sectors, and more. He mostly manages their distributors per region and some of the biggest key accounts for them can be found in either China or India. He’s currently the only person in APAC for them and but can definitely manage a team if given the chance; he’s reporting to the Chief Sales Office based in Germany
