1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
His career is mostly focused on project management, program management, portfolio management, all within the IT side and around different sectors such as fintech, government, medical, and so on. He has been working in the XXXX for the past 5 years now where he runs a portfolio of several projects all about regulatory projects: SEC, CFTC, FCA, and all the governing bodies around the world for trade reporting. His main responsibility is to make sure that they deliver all the projects, do a lot of modifications of the systems, strategically find a better system for their clients, and incorporate it later on. Lately, they’ve been doing a lot of AI transformations, from in-house data warehouse perspective into cloud, and such; for the past year and a half, they have been decommissioning and moving away from the old architecture and moving directly into the cloud with S3 Lake Formation and Athena SQL. In this role, he’s the one who oversees everything from end-to-end, has been putting the whole roadmap in place of what needs to be delivered, work breakdown structure, and also has been running all the governance calls with the board, different entities at the bank, and so on. Apart from that, he have to always sell the idea within the bank, speak to the board and different members, to be able to get his idea sold.
Before this, he was with XXXX as an IT Program Director for a year and also was with XXXX as an IT Program Director where he did project management, program management for IT, and such for radiology sector. He also led their healthcare platform transformation initiatives with a portfolio exceeding 20M USD in investment value. He started off his career with Project Management roles from Telus and Mobile Locate.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be his communication skills since his current role involves him speaking to different stakeholders such as internal/external, present whatever solution they have in a way tha these stakeholders can relate, and such. He considers himself great with problem-solving as well; he is coming from a software engineering background so he understands complex systems and make projects/programs successful. He is good working with a lot of engineers and tech people, knows the technology heavily, and has always been the key person in making decisions around those problems.
