1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He’s been living in England for the past 25 years now and is originally from Abu Dhabi. He’s currently working as a chief Engineer for XXXX, a post-production company in film and media. His role is a mixture of technical and strategy design; he previously managed global teams from Australia, Canada, US, and their head office in London. He’s also been advising the senior management with regards to technology roadmaps, involved in pre-release contents, as well as cybersecurity. Before this, he was the Head of IT with XXXX, which was another film and media company, where he worked alongside big names in the industry including Disney, Universal, Fox, Warner Bros, and more. Both of these two roles, he worked in the operations strategy design, worked very closely with them as well as with cybersecurity; design policies and strategies for the company. On top of these, he has a strong understanding, knowledge, and experience of the whole IT infrastructure cloud, he’s an expert in Azure since they were using it mainly on previous company, together with AWS; also familiar with operating systems like Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. Most of his work involves both operation/management and technical side, it depends on the needs of the project, and sometimes he works 50% engineering and 50% on the management side.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skills would be within cybersecurity since he finished his Masters in this area, and is working on the same field for about 16 years now as well; he’s good with pre-release contents, security, and making sure that they’re projects are secured. Other strong points would be digital transformation, cloud migration, and on the soft side, he’s proficient working with different global teams since he’s been involved in multicultural roles for the past 9-10 years; also good in translating technology aspects into business language, and vice versa, for the senior management team to understand it easier.
