1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?  She did her Law degree back in the UK and also had her second degree which was International Journalism. She then came to Hong Kong and worked as a Teacher originally; but after sometime, she transitioned to more writing roles and joined XXXX as a English Copywriter where she produced informative and SEO-optimized contents for the company. She was there for about 6 months and then joined XXXX as a Technical Writer & Copywriter, now as a Senior Technical Writer and Customer Support Manager; their product is a supply chain management software that has lots of new features so her job is to learn the system, understand what the changes are, how it impacts the user, and write release notes and technical guides for it such as UI documents, customized guides for clients, and at the same time, she also handles tickets from people using the software and try to rectify the issue herself. Most of their clients are coming from different sectors including clothing, footwear, supermarkets, and any business that produces anything and needs it to be tracked. 2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?  Strongest skill would be her problem-solving skills and has practiced it since their company doesn’t have any trainings so she had to teach herself a lot of things such as using the system, new features, and all; most of the time, she has to use it, test it, and write a guide for it afterwards. 3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements? She has about 3 years of experience in technical writing and editing now, has experience with hardware previously where she worked with an internet router company and had to create specifications, write documentations for physical electronic products, and 4G/5G technologies. Currently, she’s more exposed to software solutions and believes she can adapt and learn in any industry she will be placed in. Technology wise, she uses JIRA for project management stuff, Adobe Suite for writing/editing, and Zendesk for article formatting, also has some knowledge of HTML.

Previous companies and jobs?  She graduated with a degree in Literature & Professional Writing, also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Interpreting & Translating. She started off as a Journalist and Editor for a magazine and had some experience in teaching as a Teaching Assistant as well before transitioning as a Writer/Copywriter Editor. She was a Translation Clerk for XXXX where she was involved with translating manuals and procedures document for repairing industry and was an Editorial Assistant as well for XXXX where she worked on electronics article and content for publication. She then started her Technical Writing journey with XXXX where she mainly conducted interviews with engineers to be able to write and revise manuals for electronic products, involved with translation and printing initiatives, and making of BOM as well. After that, joined XXXX as a Technical Writer again where she mostly was involved manuals and product specifications for toys. She also coordinated there with translation projects and such. She is currently a Tutor for XXXX where she proofreads Chinese materials, help students with homework, and mainly teach them different subjects. 2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?  Strongest skill would be her people skills and has vast experience coordinating with different teams for different projects; including design team, product team, and such. She also has great grasp of technology and had to learn it constantly for her to write articles about it. For the tools, she is mostly familiar and using Microsoft on a daily basis but is open to explore other tools such as Adobe in the future. 3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements? She has more than 20 years of overall experience and about 10-15 of it is in technical writing/editing. She has about 5 years of experience within manufacturing and electronic industry and the other years are focused on reporting and translation projects. She is also knowledgeable with compliance and regulations since she has worked on electronics and manufacturing sector previously. In addition to technical manuals and materials, she also has experience editing and writing magazine articles and some other publications; she would be comfortable working on documentations for machines or any consumer products.

Previous companies and jobs?  She is a quite a well-rounded person and has done direct sales both B2B and B2C. She started off as a Sales Team Lead for XXXX where she was involved in sales management and direct sales experience, and CRM management as well. After that, she was a CRM Specialist for XXXX, an authorized Ferrari dealer, where she worked on achieving brand CRM and sales targets, cultivated client relationships, boost engagement, and loyalty as well. She was also a Project Manager for an agency handling branding, design, and website development and was doing account management for them as well, ensuring project timelines and delivery are met, also involved with CRM management for that role. After that, she was involved with two startups including XXXX and XXXX, it’s an event venue for gatherings and can be customizable based on which occasions will be booked. Her last role was with XXXX as a Sales Manager where she mostly did B2B and was responsible for finding customers herself within the shipping/cargo sector, she’s the one calculating how many cargo a client need or is good for a company to do. 2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?  Strongest skill would be her sales ability since she has been driving business growth and building strong relationships for the past few years. Aside from that, she’s also good and loves to do event management and organization; in summary, she’s keen to any people or client-facing type of roles. 3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements? She has about 9 years of direct sales and sales management experience, has strong experience with startups from 0 to 1 as well; has co-founded few startups herself. She also has worked with few insurance companies previously in HK including AIA and Manulife, and has sold beauty machines mainly for clinics, doctors, and they would be very familiar with insurance roles and policies so she has knowledge about that space. She would be willing to explore more about AI or tech-related roles as well in the future.
