1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?  She just relocated to Hong Kong for almost a year and is working with XXXX as a Supervisor for Technical Services and Document Control where she is responsible for revising and publishing manuals for XXXX manufacturer, joining internal/external audits, and check all technical manuals to load it to the aircrafts; on top of that, she is also doing supervisorial function. Before this, she was with XXXX as a Technical Writer for about 7 years where she was also handling publication contents of operations manuals, user guides, training materials, and crew information. She worked there mostly with Airbus and was responsible for setting the documents’ standards based on company and regulatory policies. During her internship, she also worked with technical stuff including machines and aircrafts so she is familiar within that area as well. 2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?  Strongest skill would be her technical expertise when it comes to technical writing and communication. She also has lots of experience in using different kinds of document management systems and has trained people to use them on her current and previous job. In terms of tools and technologies, she is great with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Aerodocs, and Orlando Tech Pubs, and some other software related to Boeing such as JDM Pro and more. 3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements? She has about 8 years of experience in technical writing and editing; mostly focused with aircrafts and airlines. She also has lots of experience with machines, manufacturers, and such and is mainly doing technical manuals/materials, operation manuals, user guides, safety/security manuals, flight documentations, and such. With that being said, she has great knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards as well as compliance. Previous companies and jobs?  He started working in the chemistry side of things when he was with XXXX as a Lab Assistant; he worked there and analysed samples from different companies, provided feedback to the government to be able to use for policy construction about environment. After that, he started his business and that’s the time he got into data analytics, also did some courses in statistics and enrolled himself in PhD. For most recent years, he has worked as data analyst for a couple of gigs in database design and also was involved with data visualization, helped in optimizing supply chain for some clients, and use Big Query and Firebase for data warehousing as well. He also has a bit of AWS experience for some clients who wanted to automate their collection and visualization of data. Currently, he’s also studying machine learning engineering and has enrolled on another course for it to understand more of Docker, Kubernetes, and some algorithms. The last project he was involved with was a mental health data where he used SPSS to make factor analysis to understand different people and map their skills. 2. Previous companies and jobs?  She did her Law degree back in the UK and also had her second degree which was International Journalism. She then came to Hong Kong and worked as a Teacher originally; but after sometime, she transitioned to more writing roles and joined XXXX as a English Copywriter where she produced informative and SEO-optimized contents for the company. She was there for about 6 months and then joined XXXX as a Technical Writer & Copywriter, now as a Senior Technical Writer and Customer Support Manager; their product is a supply chain management software that has lots of new features so her job is to learn the system, understand what the changes are, how it impacts the user, and write release notes and technical guides for it such as UI documents, customized guides for clients, and at the same time, she also handles tickets from people using the software and try to rectify the issue herself. Most of their clients are coming from different sectors including clothing, footwear, supermarkets, and any business that produces anything and needs it to be tracked. 2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?  Strongest skill would be her problem-solving skills and has practiced it since their company doesn’t have any trainings so she had to teach herself a lot of things such as using the system, new features, and all; most of the time, she has to use it, test it, and write a guide for it afterwards. 3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements? She has about 3 years of experience in technical writing and editing now, has experience with hardware previously where she worked with an internet router company and had to create specifications, write documentations for physical electronic products, and 4G/5G technologies. Currently, she’s more exposed to software solutions and believes she can adapt and learn in any industry she will be placed in. She started off as a Journalist and Editor for a magazine and had some experience in teaching as a Teaching Assistant as well before transitioning as a Writer/Copywriter Editor. She was a Translation Clerk for XXXX where she was involved with translating manuals and procedures document for repairing industry and was an Editorial Assistant as well for XXXX where she worked on electronics article and content for publication. She then started her Technical Writing journey with XXXX where she mainly conducted interviews with engineers to be able to write and revise manuals for electronic products, involved with translation and printing initiatives, and making of BOM as well. After that, joined XXXX as a Technical Writer again where she mostly was involved manuals and product specifications for toys. She also coordinated there with translation projects and such.
